Akrapovic Racing Exhaust System for the Kawasaki ZX 6 RR (2003, 2004)
The ZX 6 RR has the smell of racing about it. For those to whom this smell works like an intoxicating perfume, we have prepared Akrapovic RACING and EVOLUTION 1 exhaust systems. If you follow the racing scene, you are already aware that we “know” Kawasakis very well. This means that you will be receiving a top-quality aftermarket component which will take a few precious thousandths off your lap times, and getting you some pretty envious looks besides. Akrapovic RACING and EVOLUTION 1 exhaust systems are designed to perform the function of delivering performance at extremely high speeds. This means responsive and dynamic boosting of power and torque at the top end of the rpm range, where the engine works the hardest and gives the most. NOTE: We have also developed an Akrapovic EVOLUTION 3 exhaust system for the Kawasaki ZX 6RR, which is intended only for races and championships which allow louder exhaust systems ‡ 107 dB. There is no difference in performance between the EVOLUTION 1 and EVOLUTION 3. The EVOLUTION 3differs from the EVOLUTION 1 and RACING systems in the design of the header tubes and the muffler. The muffler is shorter and louder than the muffler for the EVOLUTION 1 and RACING systems. The Akrapovic carbon-fiber bracket is mandatory (instead of optional as for the RACING and EVOLUTION 1).The EVOLUTION 3 is only suitable for certain types of competition and works only in combination with certain tuning components - kit water cooler!

PERFORMANCE
Measurements of the Akrapovic EVOLUTION 1 system on the KAWASAKI ZX 6 RR:
Power: The character and purpose of the EVOLUTION 1 exhaust system are clearly evident from the power curve. Linear acceleration and a major increase in power over the stock curve are the outstanding results of the excellent construction of our exhaust system. The slightly lower output at the low end of the rpm range, which is more or less not functional in racing conditions, is negligible, while from 5400 rpm upwards, the power curve only grows in comparison to the stock curve. The explosion of power from 12400 rpm on is particularly awesome, and where the stock exhaust starts to drop off, with our system the engine keeps pulling to nearly 14000 rpm, with the rear wheel receiving 110HP. Very suitable for racing. Max increased power at 13900 rpm is 14.9 HP.
Torque: The torque curve is suited to a racing style of riding in the same way as the power curve. Lower performance at the low end, explosive performance right in the range that you need it most. A strong increase can be seen from 5200 rpm all the way to the very top of the rpm range. With an Akrapovic exhaust system, you get torque right where you need it when you’re out on the track.

CONFIGURATION
The Akrapovic RACING and EVOLUTION 1 systems are set up in 4-2-1 construction and are composed of conical elements. The RACING system is made out of high-quality stainless steel, while the EVOLUTION 1 system is made of titanium. The conical design of the tubing ensures maximum utilization of the flow of the exhaust gases. The results of prototype testing of both systems showed an even greater increase in power with the use of interference crossover tubes in the header assembly, thus both systems come with interference crossover tubes installed. The EVOLUTION 1 system is available with fittings for attaching a lambda sensor. All of the joints in the exhaust system (header tubes, collector, link pipe, muffler) are attached with free-floating connections held together with high-quality silicon-shielded tensioning springs. The muffler is the familiar Akrapovic oval. The systems are hung from the stock chassis hanging bracket with the characteristic Akrapovic carbon-fiber clamp. This allows the passenger footrests to remain in place.
